Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries in compliance with US GAAP and the company’s policies and procedures, including supporting documentation and approvals
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare monthly financial statements for corporate entities in accordance with US GAAP, ensuring all balances are properly stated and supporting schedules are accurate and complete
Collaborate with FP&A on review of actual to budget performance
Collaborate with property/development accounting team on a regular basis to ensure the team is making the appropriate equity/investment accounting entries at the project/property level
Develop and update reconciliations for all investor level contributions and distributions
Review G/L coding and descriptions on invoices and expense reports for corporate entities
Create invoices for bill-backs and intercompany transactions
Work with Treasury team to monitor cash balances
Respond to internal inquiries pertaining to financials
Mentor junior team members, external accountants, and other staff
Focus on continuous improvement of processes and procedures
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
3+ years of related experience
Public accounting and/or real estate industry experience
Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Comfortable working in an open, team-oriented environment
Experience with various accounting technology platforms
