Senior Accountant Hospitality

The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. Reporting to the Controller - Hospitality, this role manages general ledger activities, month-end close processes, financial statement preparation, and reconciliations. Additionally, the Senior Accountant supports AP/AR functions, tax compliance, and financial reporting using Restaurant365 (R365) and Sage.

· Assist Controller with month-end close checklist, ensuring financial reporting completion within ten business days.

. Supervise A/P and A/R personnel.

· Review existing procedures for A/P, A/R, and other accounting activities; suggest procedure improvements.

· Provide support to the Controller in preparing regular financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

· Review daily financial transactions entered in accounting system, including sales, purchases, payments received, and expenses incurred.

· Support A/P, as needed, in processing vendor bills, verifying input accuracy, and providing payment runs to Controller.

· Perform reconciliations for certain balance sheet accounts.

· Maintain General Ledger by posting transactions to appropriate accounts.

· Maintain an accurate fixed asset register, including details such as asset description and location, and depreciation expenses.

· Support third-party tax preparers with federal, state, and local tax compliance documents.

· Maintain proper internal controls and segregation of duties.

Skill Sets:

· Proficiency in financial software and accounting tools (Excel, R365, Sage, or similar).

· Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
