Senior Accountant - Innovative Company

We have partnered with an oil and gas client in West Houston in their search for a Senior Accountant on a contract to hire basis. This position will work a 9/80 schedule and ability to work remotely every other Friday.

Responsibilities

• Working within the refinery accounting team, will be responsible for recording/booking inventory, handling month-end close, preparing accruals for secondary freight costs for each location and valuing the inventory on a LIFO basis
• Report on sales/purchases, issue and process invoices and prepare P&L for each business unit
• Work directly with traders, schedulers, front office with exposure to management
• Complete the earnings explanation and present results to management, showing a comparison of earnings to estimate

Skills Required

• SAP experience
• Oil and Gas industry
• Public accounting experience a huge plus
• Coachable and trainable, motivated, and adaptable to change

Education & Work Experience

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of experience
