Senior Accountant Manufacturing

Senior Accountant (Full-Cycle Accounting | Manufacturing) – Onsite Chicago, IL (60632)

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant with strong full-cycle accounting experience to support month-end close, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations for a manufacturing-focused organization. This role is fully onsite and requires a detail-oriented professional who can independently manage core accounting processes and ensure accuracy across the general ledger, AP, and AR functions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)
• Execute month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis vs. actual results

General Ledger & Reconciliations

• Maintain and post journal entries with accuracy to the general ledger
• Perform GL reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and other balance sheet account reconciliations
• Ensure integrity and completeness of financial data

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Process vendor invoices using 3-way match (PO, receipt, invoice)
• Manage vendor accounts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain vendor master data
• Execute weekly check runs and AP reporting

Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Post cash receipts (ACH, checks, credit card payments)
• Reconcile customer accounts and credit card transactions
• Support collections and resolve customer discrepancies

Audit & Compliance Support

• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies

Systems & Collaboration

• Work extensively in MAS 90 / Sage 100 ERP
• Generate financial reports (Crystal Reports is a plus)
• Collaborate with CFO and cross-functional teams; no direct reports

Required Qualifications

• 5–10 years of hands-on accounting experience (Senior Accountant level)
• Strong experience in full-cycle accounting and month-end close
• Proven experience with GL, bank reconciliations, AP, and AR processing
• Must have experience with MAS 90 / Sage 100
• Manufacturing or inventory-based industry experience strongly preferred
• At least one role with 3–5+ years of tenure preferred
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work fully onsite in Chicago, IL (within ~45 minutes commute)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-heavy environments
• Crystal Reports experience
• Exposure to ERP reporting tools and financial reporting systems

Compensation & Details

• Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 per year
• Location: Chicago, IL (ZIP 60632) – Fully Onsite
• Reporting to: CFO
• No relocation assistance provided
