Senior Accounting Manager - Continuous Learning Opportunities

The Accounting Manager will lead daily operations, including preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, and related duties. Ideally, this role will establish and scale the company's accounting and finance operations. This long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity is with a company based in New York, New York. Major responsibilities

Prepare various technical accounting analyses, policies and procedures

Drive and manage the full accounting team performance of the close process to meet tight deadlines

Assist in the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including document preparation, data analysis, integrity validation and reconciliation processes

Regular review and analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts

Collaborate with FP& A and accounting management to deliver relevant and timely reporting of financial data analytics, including monthly flash report, key financial metrics and actual spend against budgets/outlook- Demonstrated technology and analytical abilities

- Customer service oriented communication skills

- CPA or MBA preferred

- 10+ years of recent relevant financial experience

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

- Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively

- Practical knowledge of Inventory Valuation

- Inventory Variance experience highly preferred

- Experience with Monthly Accruals

- Demonstrated knowledge of Inventory Reconciliation

- Month-end Reports experience highly valued

- Comprehension of Monthly Account Reconciliation

- Adeptness in Fixed Asset Inventory

- Knowledge of Monthly Closings

- Monthly Financial Reports experience highly desired

- Strong familiarity with Monthly Financial Close

- Hands-on experience with Monthly Balance Sheet

- Earlier work involving Month-end Close Activities

- Foundational knowledge in Monthly Financial Reporting

- Monthly Bank Reconciliation experience preferred

- WIP - Work In Progress experience

- General familiarity with Inventory Tracking

- Monthly Close Processes experience desired

- Previous experience working with Month-end Journal Entries

- Background working with month end closings

- Good understanding of Month-end Financial

- Inventory Accounting experience

- Demonstrated knowledge of Monthly Financials

- Inventory analysis experience highly desired

- Adeptness in Monthly Financial Statements

- Command of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)

- General familiarity with Perform Month-end

- Annual Physical Inventory experience

- Prior experience with Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation

- Practical knowledge of Accrual Accounting

- Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable
