Job Description - Senior Actuary IFP Product Performance

Position Summary
The Individual & Family Plans (IFP) Product Performance team is looking for driven, high-performance colleagues to join their team. Our team is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the financial performance of our Individual Exchange business, which launched January 1, 2022, and experienced significant growth for plan years 2023 and 2024. This position is an analytical role that will be involved in a number of IFP product performance workstreams, but in particular will be key in providing deeper perspective on IFP membership to both technical and non-technical audiences. The individual in this role will need to serve as a subject matter expert for all things pertaining to IFP membership, e.g., detailed tracking of existing membership, including monthly and yearly retention and lapse rates, and forecasting of membership (on both a financial statement and date of service basis) based on detail cohort-based analysis. They will need to gather and review data and/or reporting from a number of other business areas (e.g., sales, enrollment, finance, growth analytics) in order to identify any areas of interest (favorable or unfavorable), to determine the drivers of those results, and to make recommendations to IFP leadership on any actions needed based on findings. This individual will serve as a liaison for the IFP business unit with these areas, and will need to establish close partnerships.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, organized, and collaborative. They have strong project management skills and experience with building models, analyzing detailed datasets, and clearly communicating the results of their analysis to a variety of audiences.

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years related experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
- Ability to work with large and detailed data sets; SAS, SQL, etc. a plus
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Solid technical/analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience with creating and maintaining actuarial models

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries
- Prior experience or familiarity with Public Exchanges
- Existing experience with Aetna financial data sources (ODF, EDW, ADAM, etc.)
- Experience with analyzing data sets in R
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$79,200.00 - $174,200.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
