Job Description - Senior Analog Design Engineer

Job Description:
We seek a highly skilled Senior Analog IC Designer/Architect to architect & design controller electrical ICs that will interface with our Photonic ICs (PICs).

The ideal candidate would have rich experience in designing CMOS based high precision current steering & voltage DACs, high precision SAR/Sigma Delta ADCs and variable gain TIAs for low frequency, high power control circuitry.

As the Analog IC Architect, you will be critical in driving the specification and architecture of analog integrated circuits for our control IC products.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including system engineers, optical designers, and digital IC designers, to ensure the successful development and delivery of high-performance analog IC solutions.

Responsibilities:
Define and implement the control circuitry including design of SAR/Sigma Delta ADCs, high precision voltage & current steering DACs. Define analog top by instantiating multiple analog IPs from various partners, validate & release GDSII to the fabrication partner (tape-out).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather system-level requirements and translate them into detailed circuit specifications including performance targets, functional requirements, and interfaces.
Write automation scripts to run jobs on EDA tool flow required for timing simulations, schematic capture and layout activities.
Work with various design houses/vendors and Foundry partners to identify the most optimum foundry node and implement the design towards a full-chip tape-out.
Collaborate with system and optical engineers to understand the system-level requirements and translate them into analog IC specifications.
Ensure alignment with overall system requirements and customer expectations in terms of performance, cost and schedule
Collaborate on test and characterization: Work closely with the IC test and characterization vendors to define and execute test plans for analog IC designs including Monte Carlo simulations. Analyze test data and provide feedback for design optimization.
Drive post silicon validation plan including binning and yield analysis.
Documentation and reporting: Prepare and present design documentation, including specifications, design reviews, and technical reports.
Communicate design progress, challenges, and recommendations to stakeholders effectively.

Qualifications :
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on Analog/Mixed Signal design or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus.

Requirements:
Extensive experience in large analog IC design and full-chip analog or mixed signal IC tape-out.
Rich experience in designing analog IPs such as precision ADCs, high power precision DACs, low speed TIAs, for optical transceivers is a must.
Strong understanding of analog circuit design principles, techniques, and trade-offs in low-speed, high-precision applications.
Thorough understanding and knowledge about switching and op amp transistors in CMOS and BCD process nodes.
Experience in analyzing and identifying components from foundry PDKs.
Proficiency in analog IC design tools from Cadence Virtuoso Schematic Capture/Layout/ADE Assembler, Pegasus DRC, Quantus timing extraction and MMSIM with Spectre X is a must .
Familiarity with optical communication systems, channel models and the design considerations for integrating analog ICs into transceiver modules is a plus.
Proven track record in defining and driving analog IC architectures for complex systems.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical challenges.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work in a collaborative and cross-functional team environment.
Experience in defining project plans with detailed micro-level tasks and mentoring a team of analog IC designers is a plus.

Join our team and take on the role of Senior Analog Design Engineer, driving the specification and architecture of analog integrated circuits. Your expertise and leadership will be pivotal in launching Xscape’s cutting edge data center products, enabling high-performance optical communication solutions.
