Job Description - Senior Analytics Engineer, Rides Finance

We're looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to own and scale Bolt's Competitive Intelligence data domain at Rides, Finance. From third-party vendor ingestion to production-grade data models, you'll build the foundation that powers trusted dashboards, high-impact strategic analyses, and data-driven decisions across the business.

Are you ready to make a global impact? Join us!

<strong>About us</strong>

Bolt is one of the fastest-growing tech companies in Europe and Africa, with over 200 million customers in 50+ countries. We’re a global team of more than 100 nationalities joined on a common mission – to make cities for people, not cars. And we need you to make it happen!

<strong>About the role</strong>

As a Senior Analytics Engineer in the Competitive Intelligence domain, you'll own the end-to-end data architecture behind Bolt's competition-related metrics and insights. That means building and maintaining a scalable, reliable, and well-governed data foundation: from ingesting third-party vendor data to delivering curated, analytics-ready data marts used by teams across the organisation.

This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and analytics, with a strong emphasis on technical ownership. You'll design robust pipelines, codify consistent business logic, and ensure competition data is production-grade, trustworthy, and built to last. Equally important is developing a deep understanding of how this data gets used: the strategic analyses it enables and the business decisions it informs, so that the models and metrics you build are accurate, meaningful, and grounded in real-world context.

You'll work closely with analysts and business stakeholders to make sure the data foundation reflects genuine strategic needs. The role is engineering-focused at its core, but its impact depends on strong partnership with the teams who rely on these insights every day.

<strong>Main tasks and responsibilities:</strong>

  • Design and maintain the end-to-end data model (raw → staging → intermediate → marts) using dbt, ensuring clear documentation, lineage, and maintainability across all data assets.

  • Develop reusable data products: datasets, models, and metric layers, that power dashboards, analyses, and automated systems across Bolt.

  • Design and manage ingestion pipelines for third-party competitive intelligence vendors (APIs, SFTP, batch files), including schema management, validation, and change handling.

  • Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting to ensure pipelines are reliable, secure, and aligned with Bolt's data platform standards.

  • Define, standardise, and maintain competition-related KPIs and metric logic to ensure consistent interpretation across analytics and business teams.

  • Optimise warehouse performance and cost efficiency for competition-related workloads, and enable teams through clear metric definitions and documentation.

<strong>About you:</strong>

  • Hands-on experience with dbt (or Dataform) in production environments, including orchestration tools such as Airflow.

  • Advanced SQL skills with a strong track record of building production-grade transformation layers.

  • Experience integrating third-party data sources via APIs or batch ingestion pipelines.

  • Proficiency with modern analytical data platforms such as Databricks, BigQuery, or Snowflake, including data modelling, performance optimisation, and cost management.

  • Experience designing dimensional data models (fact tables, SCDs, data marts) and strong Python skills for pipeline development and automation.

  • Experience implementing data quality testing, monitoring, and governance practices, with comfort in Git-based workflows and CI/CD.

Experience is great, but we also look for drive, intelligence, and integrity. So, even if you don’t tick every box, please consider applying if you feel you’re the kind of person described above!

<strong>Why you’ll love it here:</strong>

  • Play a direct role in shaping the future of mobility.

  • Impact millions of customers and partners in 600+ cities across 50+ countries.

  • Work in fast-moving autonomous teams with some of the smartest people in the world.

  • Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.

  • Get a rewarding salary and stock option package that lets you focus on doing your best work.

  • Enjoy the flexibility of working in a hybrid mode with a minimum of 2 days in the office each week to foster strong connections and teamwork.

  • Take care of your physical and mental health with our wellness perks.

*Some perks may differ depending on your location and role.
