Job Description:
The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) is seeking an experienced Senior Application Support Developer to support the modernization and transition of the Mississippi Automated Child Welfare Information System (MACWIS) to a modern technology platform. This role involves both supporting the existing production environment and contributing to the development of new features and migration efforts to the CCWIS-compliant system.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintenance, enhancement, and troubleshooting of legacy Natural code.
- Data cleanup and de-duplication scripting (SQL/Natural).
- Data migration planning and validation.
- Support for DMT validation and testing activities.
- Participation in project meetings as a senior SME.
- Acting as a technical bridge between legacy MACWIS and the new CCWIS platform.
Required Skills/Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in Natural, VB6, SQL programming.
- Strong experience in ASP.NET / .NET (C#).
- Proven expertise in legacy system support, migration, and integration.
- Prior experience with Child Welfare Information Systems (MACWIS/CCWIS/SACWIS).
- Strong understanding of child welfare processes (case management, intake, licensing, reporting).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to act as SME and mentor junior developers.
Preferred (Not Required):
- Experience in child welfare modernization projects.
- Knowledge of federal CCWIS compliance.
- Experience with ADABAS.
Other Details:
Work Hours: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional after-hours/weekend support required).
Background Check: Standard background check required.
