Job Description:
This position reports into Service Delivery team under Enterprise Operations and works closely with Cloud & Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Finance to ensure Shield AI’s IT assets are secure, auditable, and available to support rapid global growth. The ideal candidate brings strong operational discipline, vendor and procurement experience, and a process-driven mindset to build scalable, compliant asset management practices in a mission-critical environment.
This position may be based in San Diego, CA; Dallas, TX; or Washington, D.C.
What you'll do:
- Own and scale Shield AI’s Enterprise Operations asset management and IT procurement function, with end-to-end accountability for hardware, software, licensing, vendor relationships, and spend optimization.
- Serve as the functional lead for the Asset Management section, defining workflows, mentoring execution, and scaling processes
- Lead IT procurement activities, including vendor management, RFQs, renewals, budgeting, and cost optimization
- Ensure accurate inventory, software license compliance, and audit readiness in partnership with IT Security and Infrastructure teams
- Ensure asset and license compliance in support of internal audits, external audits, and regulated environments (SOC, NIST, DoD, ITAR as applicable)
- Build and maintain reporting for inventory, spend, renewals, and risk to support leadership visibility and planning
- Coordinate global asset logistics, warranties, support agreements, and asset transfers to support hiring, projects, and site growth
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including standardization, lifecycle forecasting, and asset recycling programs
Required qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in IT Asset Management, IT Operations, or Enterprise IT
- Demonstrated experience managing both hardware and software assets at scale
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and budgeting
- Experience supporting audits or compliance frameworks involving asset accountability
- Proven ability to build and improve operational processes
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience leading or mentoring junior team members
- Experience operating IT asset management processes and systems; familiarity with CMDB or ITAM tooling preferred
- Familiarity with enterprise environments subject to SOC, NIST, ITAR, or DoD controls
- Experience working closely with Finance on forecasting and cost optimization
- Background in enterprise or defense-adjacent organizations
