Job Description - Senior Asset Remarketing Speciaist





Description

 The Senior Asset Remarketing Specialist will be responsible for all equipment management functions and processes related to end-of-lease and defaulted transactions, with a significant emphasis on (1) developing and managing relationships with asset remarketers and appraisers; (2) overseeing and enhancing AmurEF’s internal equipment return, repossession and remarketing process, both within the Collections Department and in connection with other Departments; (3) performing research on equipment valuation and industry trends; (4) analyzing and acting on data and information on AmuEF’s asset management activities.  The key objective of this position is to foster AmurEF’ growth, profitability and process efficiency goals while ensuring adherence to the desired risk profile and maximizing recoveries on equipment sales.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Asset Recovery and Remarketing

  • Manage end-of-lease process when asset itself is involved, such as FMV extension, purchase option exercise or return of equipment.
  • Manage equipment repossession in terminated or defaulted accounts.
  • Maximize proceeds from remarketing recovered equipment currently in AmurEF’s inventory once value is determined and photos/inspection reports are completed.
  • Develop and manage AmurEF’ network of asset inspectors, appraisers, remarketing and repo specialists (contract negotiation, performance evaluation, process oversight, etc.).
  • Arrange site inspections on equipment to be recovered; review equipment condition and determine cost/benefit of removal and repossession.
  • Review external appraisals and opinions of value and determine their accuracy and validity.
  • Follow commercially reasonable sale process at all times.

Reporting & Research

  • Track equipment inventory and sale proceeds.
  • Effectively use and leverage AmurEF’s IT system capabilities and applications (Aspire, BIDW, Access, MS Office, etc.)
  • Develop and enhance internal asset value recovery models (e.g., forecast vs. realized recoveries).
  • Research equipment and industry trends and valuations across all of AmurEF asset classes.

Customer Service

  • Delivers timely, accurate information to Customers while being considerate to their needs.
  • Captures and distribute accurately all information gathered in his/her process.
  • Ensure process coordination and effective day-to-day cooperation with other Departments (i.e., Credit, Legal, Finance and Originations).

Talent Development

  • Familiarity with, and passion for, hard assets and mechanical objects.
  • Demonstrated analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
  • Logical, concise, organized, and persuasive presentation style.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Strong, proven work ethic and ability to work independently.
  • Timely decision-making ability.

Education and Training Guidelines

  • At least five years of relevant equipment financing, operations and/or management experience preferred.
  • BA/BS in related field preferred.
  • Professional Certifications a plus.
