The Role
As a Senior Associate Attorney, you will lead complex employment and class action litigation in Washington and California state and federal courts. This is a hands-on role with ownership across all phases of litigation, suited for an experienced litigator ready to take on leadership responsibility without the bureaucracy of a large firm.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage wage-and-hour, employment, and consumer class and representative actions
Own all phases of litigation, including case strategy, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation
Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions and complex briefs in state and federal courts
Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and experts; prepare clients and witnesses for testimony
Conduct advanced legal research and provide strategic analysis on statutes, regulations, and case law
Represent clients in hearings, conferences, mediations, and settlement negotiations
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to manage class cases and high-volume litigation efficiently
Mentor junior attorneys and support staff, contributing to the growth and development of the Seattle office
Travel occasionally for hearings, depositions, and case-related needs
Qualifications
Required – No Exceptions
Active license to practice law in California or Washington (CA or WA Bar required)
3+ years of civil litigation experience with substantial responsibility for discovery, motion practice, oral advocacy, and depositions
Demonstrated stable employment history (average tenure of ~2 years per role)
Strong written advocacy skills with a track record of drafting high-quality motions, briefs, and discovery
Confident courtroom presence and strong deposition and negotiation skills
Ability to manage a demanding litigation docket in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
Professional, reliable work history with mature judgment and client-facing experience
Ability to work on-site full-time in Seattle
Preferred
Prior experience with wage-and-hour, employment law, class actions, or complex litigation
Experience mentoring junior attorneys or leading case teams
