Location
Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is primarily an on-site leadership opportunity, with hybrid flexibility considered for the right candidate. Fully remote arrangements are not available.

An active CPA license is required. Candidates should bring approximately 8 years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience, including meaningful public accounting experience and a strong background in assurance engagements, client relationships, and team leadership.

Job Description
- Lead audit, review, compilation, and other assurance engagements from planning through completion
- Serve as a primary client relationship manager and trusted advisor to business owners and leadership teams
- Review financial statements, engagement workpapers, and reporting for quality, accuracy, and compliance
- Advise clients on financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, operations, and business planning
- Provide guidance on U.S. GAAP and professional accounting standards
- Support tax planning and client tax consultation when appropriate
- Manage multiple engagements, priorities, deadlines, and client expectations
- Coach, mentor, and develop accounting professionals
- Help transition and expand client relationships while contributing to business development
- Partner with firm leadership on succession planning, ownership transitions, acquisitions, and other strategic client needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting
- Active CPA license required
- 8 years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience
- Meaningful public accounting experience with audit, review, compilation, tax, and/or advisory exposure
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and professional standards
- Proven client relationship, engagement management, and leadership skills
- Experience with privately held businesses and employee benefit plans preferred
- Ability to mentor staff and confidently advise business owners and senior leaders
