Senior Audit Associate

We are looking for a Senior Audit Associate to join our collaborative public accounting team in Vernon Hills, IL. This full-time position provides a hands-on opportunity to lead audit and assurance engagements while working closely with managers and firm leadership. As a Senior Audit Associate in Vernon Hills, you will contribute to engagements across diverse industries including construction, manufacturing, technology, and mergers & acquisitions. You will oversee key engagement areas, coordinate team efforts, and ensure high-quality deliverables while strengthening client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead audit and assurance engagements from planning to completion in Vernon Hills.
• Collaborate with managers and leadership to deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality client service.
• Prepare and review financial statements, schedules, and supporting audit documentation.
• Mentor junior staff, providing guidance on technical and engagement matters.
• Apply analytical, organizational, and project management skills to complex audits.
• Communicate effectively with clients, demonstrating professionalism and problem-solving.
• Stay current with accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s or advanced degree preferred.
• CPA eligible required; CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience, including at least one busy season at the senior associate or supervisory level.
• Experience in audit and assurance services; exposure to construction, manufacturing/distribution, technology, or M&A engagements preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software applications.
