JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Bike Mechanic will play a pivotal role in supporting Walmart's active transportation goals by providing comprehensive onsite bike mechanic and associate support services at the Walmart Move Hub located in Bentonville, Arkansas. This role operates within the vibrant Move Hub culture, emphasizing teamwork, integrity, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Mobility Device Support Services:

Prioritize safety and maintenance of equipment.

Perform equipment maintenance, tune-ups, and cleaning for the Move Hub fleet.

Conduct fleet equipment repairs as needed.

Develop and manage an equipment maintenance schedule.

Prepare equipment prior to reservations and document all management activities.

Associate Support Services:

Assist in managing the reservation system, ensuring accuracy and preparing reservations for associates.

Educate associates on reservation system usage and provide assistance in route planning.

Develop and implement monthly programming, including clinics and tune-up days.

Provide customer service to associates and educate them on bike usage and commuting.

Support and encourage group rides with associates, coordinating with management.

Ride to Work Wednesdays (RTWW) Support:

Participate in RTWW program, riding to work on alternate mobility equipment every Wednesday.

Wear RTWW gear and actively encourage participation among associates.

Document participation on Strava to track engagement and promote program awareness.

Performance Tracking:

Document and report regularly on accurate KPIs to track performance metrics.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Partner with team members in developing, monitoring, and overseeing Walmart's active transportation program.
  • Lead and inspire team members, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  • Provide guidance and oversight into day-to-day operations.

Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in bicycle maintenance.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to handle objects.
  • The employee must occasionally walk, reach with hands and arms, and kneel or crouch. They must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus and close vision.
