A locally owned and growing multi-company organization based in Southwest Michigan near Benton Harbor is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and dependable professional to support day-to-day accounting operations and office coordination functions across multiple entities.
This is not simply a transactional bookkeeping position. The team is seeking someone with stronger technical bookkeeping and business operations experience who can work independently, think proactively, and help support the day-to-day flow of a small office environment.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable balancing detailed accounting responsibilities with broader operational and administrative support needs while working closely with executive leadership. This position reports directly to the executive team and plays an important role in helping keep daily operations organized, responsive, and moving forward.
This position is a strong fit for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, communicates well with others, and is comfortable balancing accounting responsibilities with day-to-day operational support in a smaller business environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Accounting & Financial Operations
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions across multiple entities
Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, and reconciliations
Maintain accurate financial records within QuickBooks Enterprise
Assist with monthly close processes, financial reporting, and cash tracking
Perform bank reconciliations and maintain organized accounting documentation
Support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and year-end preparation activities
Process invoices, vendor payments, credit card reconciliations, and related accounting activity
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately
Office & Business Operations Support
Support daily office operations and administrative coordination
Help maintain organized systems, workflows, and internal processes
Coordinate communication with vendors, tenants, contractors, and outside partners
Assist leadership with operational projects and follow-through
Answer incoming calls and help support general office needs
Work independently while helping support a collaborative, team-oriented office environment
Property & Tenant Coordination Support
Assist with select property management support tasks as needed
Help coordinate tenant communication and maintenance requests
Assist with leasing documentation and administrative follow-up
Occasionally help show an apartment, office, or building space if needed
Help provide continuity and support during operational transitions
What We’re Looking For
Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Highly organized with strong follow-through and project coordination abilities
Comfortable working in a small office environment and supporting responsibilities both large and small
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain an efficient workflow
High level of comfort with technology and learning new systems
Detail-oriented with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
Preferred Experience
Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise strongly preferred
3–5+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or business operations experience
Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
Experience supporting multiple business entities or accounts preferred
Experience with AP/AR, reconciliations, reporting, and financial organization
Experience in property management, commercial real estate, or small business operations is helpful but not required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and SharePoint
Schedule & Benefits
Full-time, in-office position
Flexible office schedule within standard business hours (approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
