Position: Senior Bridge Engineer

Reports to: Department Manager - Structural

General Qualities:

- Has excellent communication and writing skills. 

- Has excellent Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to navigate through company internet-based systems. 

- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions. 

- Proactive self-starter capable of setting a positive example for the staff. 

Technical Responsibilities:  

- Provide calculations for bridge design and retaining walls. 

- Prepare drawings for bridge replacement, bridge rehabilitation, retaining walls, and station rehabilitation.

- Supervise drafting and other technical staff.

- Has worked on multiple bridge design projects.

- Collaborate with construction teams and contractors during the construction phase to address design-related issues, provide      clarifications, and ensure that the construction meets design intent and performance expectations.

- Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and advancements in bridge engineering, structural analysis, and design optimization through professional development, training, and participation in industry conferences and forums.

- Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations governing bridge design and construction, including Bridge Design Specifications.

Requirements

Educational /Professional Experience Required:

- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred.

- 5-10 years of experience in bridge design

- PE preferred but not required

Professional Development:

- Actively participates in professional development and training and licensing.
