Job Description - Senior Buyer
Description:
RenewAire, the industry leading manufacturer of Energy Recovery Ventilation, is searching for a Senior Buyer to join our supply chain team. The Senior Buyer is a strategic partner responsible for managing the purchasing of materials, goods and services required for production while ensuring on-time delivery and inventory levels are maintained at optimal levels. Strong contract negotation and vendor relationship skills are a must, as is cross-department collaboration.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Responsible for domestic and international supplier selection, negotiation, order processing and on-time-delivery while supporting target costing for parts and projects.
Make recommendations and decisions regarding vendor selection and inventory levels, with focus on Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) and cost.
Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors that maximize vendor benefits and value to RenewAire. Criteria include factors such as lead time, quality, cost, assured supply and vendor partnership / knowledge capability.
Pursue continuous improvement of our materials position by investigation of enhanced alternate relationships, suppliers or materials.
Participate in RenewAire Quick Product Development meetings, supporting the purchasing aspects of new product releases.
Prepare and analyze data and necessary information to provide recommendations to management for making critical decisions that impact RenewAire.
Utilize Microsoft Access or similar data tools to analyze purchasing plans and make decisions in relation to high variability customer demand and dynamic inventory levels, to enhance overall companywide effectiveness.
Utilize data visualization tools to make supply planning, part availability, and inventory levels status/challenges/opportunities/risks more visible to a wider supply chain/ops team, vendors, and stakeholders.
Work with Coworkers to maintain and improve systems which deliver materials for production. Focus on system responsiveness, inventory accuracy, and reporting potential.
Assist in the improvement of specific internal procedures required to maintain system integrity and material flow, such as non-conforming parts, late deliveries, short shipments, etc.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in business or equivalent experience
5-10 years previous purchasing experience
Experience with QRM and/or willingness to learn
ISM or APICS certification preferred
Must have strong knowledge of purchasing, inventory control and ERP/MRP practices and techniques
Manufacturing experience with HVAC and/or related material types (e.g. sheet metal, electronics / PCBA (printed circuit board assemblies), motors / impellers) preferred
Excellent proficiency in related software, e.g. Microsoft applications, especially Excel. Microsoft Access proficiency strongly preferred
