Position Overview and Responsibilities:
This position assists the Director of Cabinet Affairs in coordinating the operational functions of the Office Cabinet Affairs for the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). This position serves as a key policy and procedural advisory role, responsible for conducting comprehensive and detailed reviews in support of cabinet-level functions for DEP and the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund (BOT). The role assists in the formulation, coordination and development of policies governing cabinet operations, ensuring alignment with statutory requirements, administrative rules, established policies, and DEP procedures. The position is responsible for the following:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of: The methods of data collection and analysis as well as state government structure, functions and operations.
Skill in: Using Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to: Collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems and support process improvements initiatives; organize and present data in a clear, logical format for reports, correspondence, presentations and other written materials; conduct fact-finding and analytical research; apply effective problem-solving techniques and sound judgment; work independently with minimal supervision; plan, organize and coordinate multiple work assignments and meet deadlines; communicate effectively, both oral and written; establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; work collaboratively as a team member; and exercise common sense and professional discretion.
