Job Title: SENIOR CENTER PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Location: Mena, AR

Department: Grants & Housing

Reports To: Director of Grants & Housing 

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and community-focused Senior Center Program Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Mena Senior Center in Polk County, Arkansas. This position is responsible for overseeing on-site staff, ensuring compliance with agency, state, and federal requirements, and maintaining accurate records and reports. The Senior Center Manager serves as the primary point of contact for participants, partners, and funding-related stakeholders, while ensuring a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment for both participants and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Supervision: Oversee daily operations of the Mena Senior Center. Oversee all on-site employees and assist the Grants & Housing Supervisor in ensuring staff clock in and out properly using the Agency’s timekeeping system and complete assigned trainings.

Recordkeeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate recordkeeping systems and compile, submit, and track required reports within established deadlines, including but not limited to Schedule of Meals, Monthly Expense, and Food Inventory reports. Maintain accurate weekly deposit records for monies received.

Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to DHS regulations, Health Department requirements, and Agency policies related to operating a food establishment. Ensure the Center is maintained in a manner that promotes the health and safety of participants and staff.

Financial & Purchasing Duties: Initiate supplier bids as required. Purchase food and supplies as necessary and routinely monitor food inventory in coordination with the cook to ensure adequate supplies are available.

Participant Services: Provide information, referral, and counseling services to participants. Perform individual needs assessments and develop individualized service plans through face-to-face interviews. Compile and maintain accurate case records, including documentation of client condition, home environment, and effectiveness of service delivery during home visits.

Community Relations: Attend meetings related to funding, operations, and community partnerships. Maintain positive working relationships with State, Federal, and local entities in support of elderly services.

Operational Support: Act as a fill-in for route driver or cook as needed to ensure continuity of services.

Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or management to meet the needs of participants and the Agency.


Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year of experience in supervising employees.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to use and perform key functions of MS Office programs.
  • ServSafe Certified preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must provide proof of physical exam upon hire.
  • Must provide proof of or obtain First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.

Salary Description

$15.00/hour
