Senior Change Lead

OVERVIEW

We are hiring a Senior Change Lead for a client in the Phoenix metro area, within a product and technology group. We are looking for someone with product operating model experience. You will own how a large stakeholder group understands, accepts, and adopts a new way of working, and you will be the person accountable for whether adoption actually happens.

Hybrid role, 2 to 3 days a week onsite.
Compensation: $68 to $78 per hour
Contract, 6 months, with potential to extend or convert to permanent

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the change strategy end to end, from stakeholder analysis through to measured adoption


• Build understanding of what a product operating model is and how it differs from how the organization has worked, across leaders who have not worked this way before


• Build the narrative for what is changing and why, and make it land differently for each audience


• Map the stakeholder landscape, identify where resistance is likely, and plan for it before it surfaces


• Design and facilitate workshops, offsites, and working sessions, then run them yourself


• Establish an adoption baseline at the outset and measure progress against it


• Coach senior leaders through visible sponsorship, including preparing them for difficult conversations


• Partner with product, design, research, and engineering leadership to reinforce the model through how they run their own teams


• Build the change artifacts the organization will keep using, including readiness assessments, engagement plans, and communication frameworks


• Direct the work of communications and enablement resources supporting the effort


• Report on adoption progress to executive stakeholders and adjust the approach based on what the data shows

QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years in organizational change management, with several leading enterprise scale efforts


• Demonstrated experience on operating model, ways of working, or cultural change rather than only technology deployment


• Direct experience supporting a shift toward a product operating model, including the move from project based delivery to product ownership


• Strong executive presence and the credibility to challenge a senior leader constructively


• Deep facilitation skill across large group sessions, offsites, and small working groups


• Fluency in a recognized change methodology such as Prosci ADKAR, Kotter, or an equivalent framework


• Experience building change capability where little or no formal function existed


• Ability to define and track adoption metrics, and to use them to redirect the work


• Comfort operating with ambiguity while the broader organizational design is still being settled


• Excellent written communication, including executive level materials

NICE TO HAVE

• Prosci or equivalent change certification


• Working understanding of product practice, including discovery, roadmapping, and the difference between outputs and outcomes


• Experience in a large, decentralized organization with multiple semi autonomous units


• Background in product, technology, or digital transformation environments


• Experience transitioning a capability from external support to internal ownership
