About the Role
We're looking for a versatile Senior Civil Engineer with experience in areas such as roading, pavements, earthworks, stormwater, drainage, utilities and industrial site development. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across the water, energy and industrial sectors, bringing strong technical expertise while coordinating specialist inputs to develop innovative, high-quality outcomes for our customers.

What You'll Do
- Lead the delivery of civil engineering packages across brownfield and greenfield projects, from feasibility studies, optioneering and concept development through to detailed design, construction support and project handover.
- Prepare and review engineering deliverables including design criteria, calculations, reports, specifications, drawings, cost estimates and construction work packages.
- Coordinate surveys, geotechnical investigations, utility assessments, drainage studies, pavement investigations and asset condition assessments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across structural, geotechnical, mechanical, process, piping, electrical, instrumentation, environmental and construction disciplines to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Manage project scope, budget, programme, risks, quality and technical assurance requirements while supporting proposals, tender submissions, procurement activities and stakeholder engagement.
- Deliver civil designs covering roads, pavements, earthworks, site grading, stormwater and drainage systems, buried utilities, industrial site development and contaminated land projects.
- Support the design and coordination of retaining structures, utility corridors, three-waters infrastructure and heavy industrial facilities using tools such as Civil 3D and 12d Model.
- Build strong customer relationships and mentor developing engineers, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
What You'll Bring
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, preferably from a Washington Accord recognised institution.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status in New Zealand.
- Significant experience delivering civil engineering projects within consulting, design-and-construct, multidisciplinary or project delivery environments.
- Strong technical expertise across roads, pavements, earthworks, drainage, stormwater, water and wastewater infrastructure, industrial civil works, buried utilities, energy infrastructure or land development projects.
- Experience delivering projects through concept design, detailed design and construction support phases, ideally within brownfield or live operating environments.
- Familiarity with New Zealand infrastructure standards, council requirements, consenting processes, construction monitoring and design certification.
- Working knowledge of the Building Act, New Zealand Building Code, Health and Safety at Work Act, Safe Design principles, environmental and consenting requirements, and relevant New Zealand standards and industry guidelines.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and project coordination skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.
- A current driver's licence and legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.
