This role will work within our Azure environment, including key responsibilities for enabling new Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) features for our AI Acceleration team. The AI Platform Acceleration team will enable AI democratization through apps & services and asymmetric growth through embedding AI capabilities across our business. The cross-functional talent will train and deploy foundational models and sciences, establish an AI platform to enable democratization and engaging with third party vendors to enable speed, scale, and efficiency.

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams of Data Scientists, Research Scientists, Software Engineers, and Product Leads to understand business requirements, identify opportunities for AI integration, and ensure our platforms enable development of scalable and robust AI systems. The successful candidate will be an innovative, forward thinking technology leader with a relentless focus on customers and inspiring people. They will be a natural networker across roles and teams alike.

RESPONSIBILITIES

:
Work with immediate and partner teams to design, develop, implement, and support applications hosted in Kubernetes
Leveraging and improving common patterns for CI/CD, monitoring, logging
Understand current systems/architecture and recommend changes to accommodate specialized workloads (e.g. AI workloads and differences from standard application requirements)
Mentor team members within area of expertise and contribute to documentation and showcases of new work / patterns
Investigate and improve resiliency in partnership with other teams (e.g. application, cluster, and multi-regional opportunities for improving uptime/availability)
Troubleshoot incidents with other technology teams, identifying short and long term fixes in retrospectives to improve for the future
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

:

Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science (or similar) or equivalent work experience (3-4 years progressive professional experience) in a cloud environment
Experience administering a Kubernetes cluster (e.g. upgrades, autoscaling, resource management) required (2-3 years operational experience)
Experience in managing resources in a public cloud required, Azure preferred (2-3 years progressive experience)
Experience with standard SDLC concepts, managing and deploying applications and config changes across multiple environments with gitops in an agile environment
Familiarity with networking, routing, DNS, and load balancing concepts and troubleshooting (especially within a cloud environment)
Experience with automation/IaC tooling, strong preference for Terraform
Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g. CKA or CKAD) are preferred
Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data. In addition to salary, this position is also eligible for variable compensation. Base Range for Denver, CO: $108,100 - 162,150.
