Senior CNC Machinist/Programmer

Role Overview:

Beehive Industries is searching for a qualified candidate to fill an open position for a Sr. CNC Machinist/Programmer. This position is intended for a self-driven professional looking to expand their abilities to include machining consumable goods for the DMLS process as well as metal 3D printed components.

Responsibilities:

• Setup and run 3-axis and 5-axis CNC vertical machining centers and CMM equipment 
• Develop machining fixtures for complex aerospace components 
• Program CNC equipment on-line and off-line 
• Quote machining work for internal and external customers 
• Maintain accurate and legible records of production work and results 
• Uphold a high degree of work-area cleanliness (daily and weekly) and organization 
• Explore opportunities to add value to the organization 
• Perform preventative and proactive maintenance on various shop equipment 
• Understand and identify EH&S hazards, risks and controls of the machine shop operations and activities at the site
• Ensure full compliance with EHS and Quality requirements
• Allocate tooling to be ordered for jobs

Requirements:

• 4+ years of CNC machining experience in turbo machinery components   
• Experience machining castings, forging or 3D printed hardware and asset using 5 axis CNC, and EDM machines 
• Due to contract requirements with the Department of Defense, U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
• High School Diploma
• Experience in SolidCAM, MasterCam or NX PowerMill an asset        
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and Microsoft Office (2 years’ programming experience)
• Strong technical skills in GD&T & blueprints
• Strong experience with turning/lathes  
• Some experience working with Heat Resistant Super Alloys (Nickel Alloys)
• Experience with OKUMA and Makino multi axis CNC equipment preferred                                                           
• Excellent problem solving, organizational, communication and teamwork skills                                             
•   Exposure to working within a facility quality systems and codes (ex. ISO 9001, AS9100)

Physical Requirements:

• Remain in a standing or sitting stationary position for 3-4 hours per day (1-2 hours at one time).
• Move about 3-4 hours per day (1-2 hours at one time).
• Frequently lift or carry objects between 26 – 45 pounds.
• Frequently push or pull objects between 26-45 pounds.
• Frequently reach at or below shoulder level and occasionally reach overhead.
• Frequently use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls.
• Occasionally bend, stoop, or twist.
• Occasionally crouch, kneel, and squat.
• Frequently keyboard.
•   Effectively communicate in person and via telephone or other electronic devices.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $39.00-$47.00 base salary.  Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
