Senior Manufacturing Engineer – CNC Machining (Automotive)

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Machining) with strong automotive manufacturing expertise. This is a hands-on, shop-floor engineering role focused on CNC programming, process optimization, and continuous improvement to drive productivity, quality, and efficiency in high-volume production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize CNC machining processes to improve OEE, throughput, and scrap reduction
  • Develop, modify, and validate CNC programs for lathes and milling machines (vertical & horizontal)
  • Lead toolpath strategy, cutting optimization, tooling selection, and workholding improvements
  • Troubleshoot machining issues (cycle time, tool wear, chatter, dimensional variation)
  • Support process capability (Cp/Cpk), first-piece approval, and quality validation
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Operations teams
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 5+ years of CNC programming and machining experience in automotive manufacturing
  • Strong experience with CNC lathes and milling machines (Fuji, Mori Seiki preferred)
  • Proficiency in Mastercam (or similar CAM software) and AutoCAD
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and tolerance stack-ups
  • Experience with CMMs, tool presetters, and measurement systems
  • Knowledge of SPC, process control, and capability studies
  • Hands-on shop floor troubleshooting experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • High-volume automotive manufacturing experience
  • Multi-axis machining experience
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
  • ERP/MES system experience
  • Experience leading process improvement projects
