Want to be a Senior CNC Programmer for Game Aerospace? 

The Senior CNC Programmer is responsible for programming Thermwood 5-axis machining centers (10’x40’ mill-turn) to convert digital models into precision composite parts, tools, and fixtures. This role works closely with engineering and shop floor teams to develop efficient, accurate, and manufacturable programs for large-scale components. Beyond programming, the Senior CNC Programmer plays a key role in influencing design decisions and driving production success.

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

• Programming Thermwood 5-axis machining centers using Mastercam, based on SolidWorks models.

• Selecting tooling optimized for composite materials and large-format machining.

• Performing Mastercam simulations to ensure program safety, efficiency, and quality.

• Collaborating with engineers to guide design-for-manufacture (DFM) best practices.

• Working directly with CNC Operators to refine program execution.

• Developing detailed setup sheets for repeatable, high-quality production runs.

• Managing the CNC program revision control system, ensuring only approved versions are in use.

• Leading troubleshooting of machining issues alongside engineers and operators.

• Driving continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives within machining operations.

• Mentoring junior programmers and operators on Thermwood machine operation and programming standards.

Minimum requirements: 

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 5+ years of experience programming 5-axis Gantry-style CNC machining centers.

• 5+ years programming and cutting carbon fiber tools and parts.

• Expert proficiency with Mastercam (2023 or newer) and Vericut.

• Strong understanding of G-code/M-code and machine kinematics.

• Skilled in reading complex CAD models and translating them into optimized CNC programs.

• Experience creating professional setup documentation.

• Proficient in tool and fixture design for composite part production.

• Exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship.

• Willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet production and prototyping demands.
