Position Summary

Senior Commercial Marketing Specialist will work with larger and complex commercial accounts. Requires knowledge of insurance companies willing to write coverage for industries in (but not limited to) large construction, large real estate schedules and transportation services. Requires an understanding of the unique coverages involved in these niches. The ideal candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and communication skills to handle various sales styles (i.e. assertive, consultative, detail-oriented, etc.) within a high-energy, fast-paced, growing agency. The Senior Commercial Marketing Specialist will work with junior staff to support day-to-day operations, answer coverage questions, and provide guidance.

What You Will Do

• Work with producers to prepare a complete submission for insurance carriers to develop an insurance premium


• Analyze insurance proposals to fulfil our clients’ needs


• Analyzing underwriting guidelines set by individual carriers


• Negotiate with insurance carriers for an appropriate premium commensurate with the risk


• Properly document communications, coverages, client details and more in organization’s Agency Management System


• Mentor junior staff by answering day-to-day operational and coverage questions, providing guidance and advice around appropriate placement of business, and assessment of risk

What We're Looking For

Qualifications Needed

• Active New Jersey Insurance License required.


• Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience in the insurance industry


• Minimum 5 years of commercial lines placement and marketing experience


• 3+ year of account management experience


• Excellent written and oral communication skills


• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office


• Ability to adhere to deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment


• Minimum 1 year of agency management system (AMS) experience


• Minimum 5 years of proven negotiation and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional designation, CIC, CRIS, CPCU, CRM, etc. preferred

Pay Details

$90,000 - $125,000 annually

Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate’s skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs. This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
