Senior Communications Specialist
Worldwide Counter Threat Solutions (WCTS), an award-winning contracting firm, is recruiting for an exceptionally highly qualified Senior Communications Specialist to support Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Office of Information and Technology (OIT) enabling world-class delivery of care and benefits to millions of Veterans. OIT’s 8,000 employees and thousands of contractors enable the largest integrated healthcare system in the United States, a benefits processing organization equivalent to a medium-size insurance company, and one of the largest integrated memorial and cemetery organizations in the country.
The Senior Communications Specialist will be focused on the goal of the OIT – which is integrating a Vision for Digital Transformation, which guides everything the organization does in support of the VA’s priorities and the goal to become the best IT organization in government for the Veterans they serve.
The Senior Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing, writing, revising, and editing reports, presentation materials, and other technical documents. They will apply knowledge of AIS documentation content and format standards to prepare, edit and publish technical materials. Their duties will include process improvement and reengineering methodologies/principles to conducting process modernization projects. Close communication will be held with analysts and project teams to ensure wide integration of management efforts.
This contract is contingent upon award.
If awarded, the beginning of employment will be April 30, 2024.
This is a 3-year possible contract award (2024-2026).
Salary: 90-100k
Travel: up to 25%, mostly local
Hours: within 8-5; business hours; full-time work
Location: Work will be split between Washington, DC; Fredericksburg, VA; and remote.
Citizenship: Ability to obtain an NACI clearance with written inquiries; US Citizen
Job Description
Develop, write, revise, and edit reports, articles, manuals, specifications, presentation materials, and other technical documents
Use rough outlines and resource materials and interpret information obtained through research or provided by technical specialists.
Apply knowledge of AIS documentation content and format standards to prepare, edit and publish technical materials
Employs process improvement and reengineering methodologies and principles to conducting process modernization projects.
Provides group facilitation, interviewing, training, and additional forms of knowledge transfer.
Coordinate multiple project teams to ensure enterprise-wide integration of management efforts.
Provide daily supervision and direction to personnel performing management analysis tasking.
Essential Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a relevant field.
At least seven (7) years’ experience assisting with internal and external communications and having produced communications that publicly represent the company.
Demonstrated experience of technical writing such as: reports, articles, manuals, specifications, presentation materials, and other technical documents.
Must have excellent written and communication skills.
Must have time management and organizational skills.
Must demonstrate attention to detail.
Expert-level MS Office 365 skills.
Beneficial Requirements:
Familiarity with key functions and offices within the VA.
Master’s or graduate degrees/certificates in relevant fields.
Knowledge of, and familiarity surrounding healthcare ethics and their intersection with recent technological advances.
Active NACI clearance.
