Senior Configuration Analyst - Opportunity to Make a Difference

PGS Worldwide is actively seeking a skilled Senior Configuration Analyst to support ongoing projects for an Aerospace leader in Sterling Heights, MI. This is an initial 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity and I will respond immediately to all qualified candidates.

Job Description:

• Join a team responsible for performing Configuration Management (CM) activities related to the design, development, and production of complex systems in a defense environment.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Manage changes to approved configurations using a systematic measurable change process.
• Deliver and maintain the engineering technical data package (TDP) and apply CM processes in accordance with the CM Plan.
• Support configuration management and quality audits and develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity, using guidance from company policies and procedures.
• Explain solutions, practices, and procedures to others in the organization according to procedure.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with functional personnel in Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Procurement and Manufacturing.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 4+ years' experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Defense industry experience.
• General knowledge of relevant configuration management and design engineering standards, manufacturing processes and documentation including military standards MIL-HDBK-61A, MIL-STD-31000, industry CM standard EIA-649, and/or Drawing standards ASME Y14.24 and ASME Y14.100.
• Experience using a database.
• Good computer skills with MS Office Suite to prepare appropriate metrics, reports and documents.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Attention to detail, coupled with good time management and organization skills.
• Sound interpersonal skills for interfacing and coordinating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
• US Citizenship.

Desired:

• Formal training in Configuration Data Management (CDM).
• MS Excel advanced user knowledge of complex formulas.
• Familiarity with CMMI requirements.
• Ability to develop/demonstrate research and presentation skills.
• Experience using Windchill to manage product data.
