Senior Construction Inspector (Civil/Structural)
Description
ITE is looking for multiple construction senior inspectors to support highway construction projects. The primary duties for these positions will require the experience and knowledge of performing Highway & Bridge Construction Inspection duties including construction inspection, and the understanding of construction project administration methods and processes. This person will perform field inspection, material testing, and documentation along with other tasks.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written, verbal communication includes contract staff, Resident Engineer, facility staff and Safety personnel both in person and via two -way communications. Ability to read plans and specs and prepare written contract administration documentation such as daily narratives (work reports), special inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work. Identify potential extra work, progress of project and scheduling issues, keep Resident Engineer advised of issues, and propose possible solutions. Prepare estimates of extra work and Prepare related sketches and documentation. Review plans for construct -ability and prepare comments.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience inspecting construction work, varied in size (projects ranging from $500K to $5 million plus) and complexity (multiple crews and crew sizes per shift).
- Ability to pass a Background Check for Aeronautical (air -side) access.
- Valid Driver's license required.
- Night and weekend shifts will be required (rotating schedules).
- Trained in fall protection, confined space and permit required confined space OSHA regulations and 30 -hour OSHA construction safety training.
DESIRABLE
ACI certified for concrete inspector -1 and Special Inspector. Structural Steel Bolting and Welding qualification S -1, S -2.
