We are seeking a dynamic Senior Construction Manager with experience in K-12 Education. This individual will manage large K-12 education projects in the San Diego region, and also be responsible to help grow and expand the CM Education Division within CAPO.
The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of Project Management and Construction Management principles, and have direct experience working on significant K-12 Education projects.
Position Description: ·
Lead a construction team in accordance with district and program policies and procedures for K-12 projects ·
Train team on all required policies and procedures ·
Report and collaborate with directors and managers on all project matters ·
Ensure project adheres to Division of the State Architect (DSA) approved plans ·
Inspect construction related activities to ensure proper interpretation of engineered construction plans ·
Reports variances and documents inspections; ·
Responds to inquiries and complaints from PMO, District Personnel, or external agencies. ·
Identify risk and create risk mitigation plans as necessary ·
Documents and reports all project data accurately and in a timely manner ·
Create and present project and data clearly to multiple stakeholder groups ·
Successfully manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously, ranging in construction value and complexity from $10M to $100M each ·
Successfully deliver construction projects on schedule and within budget ·
Successfully closeout projects to include DSA closeout and PMO/District closeout ·
Reviews recommended actions in resolving disputes relative to construction projects ·
Review and negotiate change order items with the contractor and management team.
Experienced Required ·
8+ years experience in Management of multiple construction projects; experience within a large capital improvement program and familiarity with relevant Public Codes ·
Minimum 2 years experience in K-12 Education Construction ·
BA or BS in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related field. ·
Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes or similar ·
Knowledge of all parts of the project life cycle, to include master planning, design and closeout ·
Experience in alternative delivery methods such as DBB or HB, DB, and LLB ·
Experience with using a web based project management system such as Primavera Unifier, Proliance, Procore or similar, and MS Office suite
Preferred Qualifications: A valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI) Primavera (P6), Bluebeam, MS Project or similar software experience Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM)
Compensation and Benefits The annual salary range for this position is $140K-185K. Final salary determination will be made by relevant experience and expertise and direct fit for the position.
