Job Description - Senior Corporate Employee and Labor Relations Consultant

Senior Employee and Labor Relations Consultant
Pay:

$104K - $124K

Work Site Address:

Boston, MA - Hybrid position *ability to travel between multiple sites in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. (Employees may have to report to work at a specific site for the day as needed/ required by the investigation. Usually once / week but varies)

What You'll Do:
Employee Relations Expert : You'll be a trusted advisor, providing internal employee/labor relations consultation throughout the hospital system. You'll work with local HR teams and the Office of General Counsel to respond to both internal and external complaints, including cases with MCAD and EEOC involvement.
Investigations : Under the guidance of the Director and other senior team members, you'll have the opportunity to conduct and assist in investigations, then prepare the related reports and findings. Your work will be critical to maintaining a fair and compliant workplace.
Training : You may also conduct training on employee relations and labor issues. Your expertise will help build our team's capabilities.
Triage and Reporting : You'll be responsible for triaging reports submitted via the Know the Line portal. You'll review concerns related to discrimination, harassment, and HR policy violations, recommending appropriate assignments to local HRBP, ER/LR, DE&I, or other areas, in line with organizational practices. You'll use technology to manage case assignments, maintain case files, and create reports, all while tracking and analyzing trends.
Caseload Management : With guidance from the Director, you'll handle a caseload of investigations, working both autonomously and collaboratively with team members, HR clients, organizational leadership, the Office of General Counsel, security, and others.
Policy and Compliance : In support of the HR Business Partner/shared services model, you'll advise HR professionals system-wide on interpreting and applying personnel policies, labor contracts, and federal and state employment and labor laws.

What We're Looking For:
Education: A Bachelor's degree is required.
Experience: You should have at least 5 years of employee and labor relations experience, including handling cases and investigations. Prior experience in a healthcare setting is a big plus.
Legal Knowledge: Understanding of state and federal employment and labor laws is essential.
Response Preparedness: Experience preparing responses to complaints filed with the MCAD, EEOC, or similar agencies is a big advantage.
Soft Skills: Tact, professionalism, and political savviness are essential for this role.

Nice to Have:
Being bilingual (Spanish or Haitian Creole) is preferred.
Experience with Case Management Systems and PeopleSoft is a plus.
