Senior Cost Estimator

Jois Contruction Management, Inc., headquartered in Mercerville, New Jersey with an office in New York. is a professional Construction Management Company in business for over 38 years. We have an opening for Senior Construction Cost Estimator.

General Responsibilities:

• Perform development of conceptual through detailed cost estimates, including change orders. 
• Review cost estimates for quality and completeness before submission to projects
• Support in development and maintenance of cost estimating database.
• Summary scope cost data for cost estimates (summary cost for major scope items)
• Ensure that all project data is properly stored and retrievable.
• Train junior staff in cost estimating.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Requirements

SKILLS

• 8 years or more of relevant experience in engineering or construction.
• Must be able to develop cost estimates for all project phases, including design and construction cost estimates at various stages of design and change order estimates.
• Must be proficient in quantity takeoff and pricing, developing labor/equipment new requirements, and estimating productivity rates.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.   
• Preferred experience in working in Transit. 

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

TOOLS and TECHNOLOGY

• Proficiency with multiple discipline-specific software applications such as HeavyBid (HCSS), On-Screen Takeoff (OST), RSMeans and Microsoft Office Applications.
• Adept with PC operating systems, with competency in several basic software applications.
