About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel with a focus on Product and Privacy to join their legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing practical and clear legal advice to various teams, including research, engineering, product management, and product marketing, throughout the product life cycle. This role is crucial for navigating global laws and regulations, particularly in the areas of data privacy, data protection, and AI. The Senior Counsel will be expected to monitor and address the impact of new legal developments, update privacy-related policies and guidelines, and lead training on relevant topics. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and the establishment of policies and processes for data access controls are also key responsibilities.Applicants must have a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, be a member of at least one U.S. state bar, and have 7-10 years of combined law firm and in-house experience, with a minimum of 4 years in-house focusing on product and privacy. A strong background in privacy and data protection issues, including experience with CCPA, VCDPA, CPA, GDPR, and technology industry experience, particularly in a B2B SaaS company, are required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in digital technologies, information security requirements, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving. Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple projects and work in a highly collaborative manner.
