Responsible for analyzing and monitoring credit worthiness of assigned commercial floor plan accounts and recommending and/or approving credit within established guidelines and policies. Includes analyzing financial statements, cash flow and completing ratio and trend analysis of statements to determine eligibility and credit line size. Ensure adherence to credit policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Major Areas of Accountability:
Preparing and analyzing spreads of a company's financial statements, credit reports and account performance to determine overall credit strengths and weaknesses of commercial credit customers.
Spreading business financial statements and tax returns using Moody's software to analyze multi-period trends and ratios, including completion of cash flow analysis. Preparation and analysis of projections where applicable.
Lead financial and account performance customer discussions on an ongoing basis with main point of contact (Owner, CFO, Accountant) to understand trends, projections, and other applicable questions regarding the business.
Perform collateral analysis including accounts receivable, inventory, real estate, and investments.
Research multiple industry trends and risks.
Work with cross functional teams to monitor delinquency, delinquency trends, and repossession activity.
Conduct and document periodic financial and account performance reviews, including ongoing risk ratings and covenant compliance.
Complete loan presentations for approval consideration by the appropriate approval authority (including manager, director, segment credit officers, senior/executive credit officers).
Provide alternate loan structure recommendations, including negotiation of financial covenants and other credit enhancements where appropriate.
Other duties as assigned, including preparation of criticized loan reporting, training/coaching to other team members, and assistance with internal/external audits.
Basic Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field with an MBA preferred OR 6 years wholesale/commercial credit underwriting experience and prior credit approval authority.
3 years wholesale/commercial credit underwriting experience and prior credit approval authority.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field with an MBA preferred.
5 years wholesale/commercial credit underwriting experience and prior credit approval authority.
Detail oriented with the ability to analyze cash flow, leverage and gauge customer strength. Experience with deal sizes ranging from 2MM and above being preferred.
Experience in secured lending to a wide variety of industries, loan types, and sizes of companies being preferred, including knowledge of complex multi-entity loan structures.
Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to make sound business judgments while protecting the interests of the bank.
Strong technical skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
