As a Qualcomm ADAS Systems Engineer, you will research, design, develop, and test algorithms that enable autonomous and self-driving vehicles. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with multiple disciplines across Qualcomm to lead innovation across the industry. \n\nThe Senior Data Lead owns the end\u2011to\u2011end data strategy and execution for a next\u2011generation, E2E AI\u2011based Autonomous Driving stack. The role ensures that data directly enables learning, performance, safety, and scalability across perception \u0026 E2E planning using state of art (proven) solutions.\n\nThis is a hands\u2011on technical leadership role, requiring deep experience in AD stack development (ML) and expert\u2011level understanding of data pipelines, fleet data, training, validation, and closed/open\u2011loop learning.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Define and drive the data strategy for an E2E AI / foundation\u2011model\u2011based AD stack.\n\n * Own the full data lifecycle: fleet ingestion, selection, enrichment, annotation, simulation, reprocessing, and KPIs.\n\n * Act as a technical peer to perception, E2E AI, systems, and safety leaders, shaping architecture through data\u2011driven insight.\n\n * Ensure data translates into measurable system and product performance, not just volume.\n\n * Enable closed/open\u2011loop learning from real\u2011world operation to model improvement.\n\n * Align data priorities across core stack, pre\u2011development, infrastructure, and deployment teams.\n\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field and 8+ years Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nMaster\u0027s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field and 7+ years Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nPhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field and 6+ years Software Engineering or related work experience.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Proven experience in AD/ADAS stack development (perception \u0026 planning).\n\n * Deep understanding of large\u2011scale ML / E2E AI systems and how data drives model behaviour.\n\n * Strong background in data pipelines, fleet data, MLOps, and validation.\n\n * Ability to operate at system and product level, not just data operations.\n\n\n\n\nPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:\n\n\u2022 Leverages expert knowledge of ADAS Software to direct and drive the design, development, and optimization of highly complex software for embedded technology blocks that directly enable autonomous and self-driving vehicles.\n\n\u2022 Develops and implements the technical vision for the enhancement of technologies for camera perception; high precision localization; radar and lidar perception; precise sensor synchronization and calibration; sensor driver; multi-sensor fusion; estimation and tracking of static and dynamic objects in the environment; behavior prediction of agents; planning of autonomous vehicle decisions, trajectory and speed; and/or autonomous vehicle control.\n\n\u2022 Oversees technical vision for verification; guides multiple teams through verification and validation of design in alignment with product/technology roadmap.\n\n\u2022 Directs the design and development of software development kits (SDK) to enable customer proof of concepts.\n\n\u2022 Drives the development of highly complex, efficient techniques to enable data sharing between critical software modules using state of art middleware.\n\n\u2022 Implements and communicates the guidelines for technical documentation, descriptions, specifications, and/or feature descriptions for projects that guide users and/or customers to use or implement output; writes detailed technical documentation, descriptions, specifications, and/or feature descriptions for highly complex projects.\n\n \nLevel of Responsibility: \n\u2022 Provides supervision to other supervisors/managers who are direct reports. \n\u2022 Decision-making is critical in nature and highly impacts program, product, or project success. \n\u2022 Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey highly complex and/or detailed information. May require strong negotiation and influence with large groups or high-level constituents. \n\u2022 Works within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department. \n\n\u2022 Has influence over the formulation and achievement of long-term business plans and objectives.\n\n\u2022 Tasks often require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; extensive planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.\n\nQualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
