The Senior Data Product Manager, Lakehouse Strategy & Enablement is a senior business product leader within HR Data & Intelligence, accountable for the strategy, execution, and enterprise enablement of Johnson & Johnson’s HR lakehouse platform. Reporting to the Head of Data Services, this role owns the business outcomes of the physical data platform that underpins analytics, data products, and AI across HR.
This role ensures that HR’s Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum layers) operates as a scalable, reliable, and cost‑effective enterprise platform. Acting as a business product owner for the lakehouse, this leader translates platform strategy into durable capabilities, enforces standards, and ensures the platform is continuously ready to support current and future data products and intelligence use cases.
Key Responsibilities
Own the business strategy and execution of the HR lakehouse platform, ensuring the Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum) is scalable, performant, and analytics‑ready
Ensure the lakehouse is continuously enabled to support downstream processes, analytics, data products, AI, and HR digital experiences
Act as the business owner of platform outcomes, including availability, reliability, performance, and scalability
Lead business ownership of ingestion, transformation, and serving patterns across the Medallion layers
Enforce enterprise standards for lakehouse usage, data pipelines, transformations, platform services, and architectural patterns
Partner with the Technical Platform Manager to align engineering delivery with business priorities and platform outcomes
Ensure Platinum‑layer physical readiness to support semantic models, analytics consumption, and advanced use cases
Enforce enterprise data quality thresholds and publishing gates in partnership with the centralized Data Quality team
Ensure only compliant, trusted data assets progress through Medallion layers and are made available for consumption
Own platform‑level operational outcomes, including stability, performance, cost management, and capacity planning in partnership with Technical Platform Manager
Identify and drive remediation of systemic platform risks and bottlenecks
Serve as an escalation point for platform‑level decisions and tradeoffs affecting multiple data products or domains
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
7+ years of experience owning or leading enterprise data platforms or large‑scale data capabilities, with accountability for business outcomes
Demonstrated experience operating modern lakehouse or layered data architectures (e.g., Medallion patterns) in an enterprise environment
Proven experience acting as a business product owner for platform capabilities, translating strategy into durable, scalable execution
Strong technical fluency across data ingestion, transformation, and serving patterns, with the ability to partner effectively with engineering and platform teams
Experience owning platform‑level outcomes, including availability, performance, scalability, and cost management
Demonstrated ability to enforce enterprise standards across multiple teams, domains, and data products
Proven ability to influence decisions and outcomes across matrixed teams
Excellent stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to translate complex platform topics into clear business decisions, tradeoffs, and priorities
Preferred:
Experience enabling processes, analytics, data products, or AI capabilities through scalable platform enablement
Experience operating in HR, people analytics, or workforce technology environments
Experience partnering with data governance, data quality, privacy, security, and compliance teams in regulated or global organizations
Familiarity with product‑based or agile operating models in complex enterprise environments
Experience supporting AI‑ready or advanced analytics use cases through platform design and enablement

This position is located in New Brunswick, NJ full-time and may require up to 10% travel, both domestic and international.
