THE OPPORTUNITY

Wavicle is hiring a Senior Data Solution Architect who operates as a technical leader both within Wavicle and our client engagements. This individual has grown their career through the technical ranks and has proven experience working directly with client leaders to understand their business problem and architecting end-to-end solutions leveraging data & analytics in the AWS cloud. A successful Data Solution Architect can operate both strategically and tactically and get into the weeds as required.

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DOReview, update and maintain architecture designs for client solutions.Review, update and maintain architecture design for integrations.Support the evaluation and design for any new solutions or proposals for client IT department.Support and facilitate the process for developing solution roadmaps.Update, maintain and manage the TechDebt Repository.Support the process of remediation of TechDebt.Manage the TechDebt remediation calendar.Update, maintain and maintain the CMDB.Guide all solution designs through the ARB process and document required approvals and exceptions.Manage and own any required checklist for architecture compliance for client.WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAMOil & Gas domain knowledge will be a plus.Expert hands-on programming experience working with AWS cloud services.Experience leveraging cloud frameworks.Hands-on programming experience with Python and Spark is required. The job requires this person to roll-up their sleeves and code if necessary.Building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Ansible, Python, Shell Scripting.Change Management and production support activities.In-depth expertise of design, implementation, engineering, automation and devops implementation, service operation and service improvement initiatives.On-prem / other cloud providers to cloud migration using cloud migration tools. Cloud Strategy assessment and definition.Experience creating and delivering end-to-end roadmaps to address a business problem.Strong understanding of Unix operating system and experience in any scripting language like Python, Shell, Awk, etc.Understand and experience on handling of servers like IIS, Tomcat or Apache.Experience building, testing, automating and optimizing data pipelines is required.Experience using emerging technologies (Snowflake, Databricks, Synapse, etc.) is highly preferred.Strong hands-on programming experience with SQL and be highly proficient in the workings of data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka, low latency data stores, Airflow, etc.).Deep understanding of data testing techniques, and a proven record of driving sustainable change to the software development practice to improve quality and performance.Expertise selecting context-appropriate data modeling techniques, including Kimball dimensional modeling, slowly changing dimensions, snowflake, and others.Passion for software development and data and be highly skilled in performing data extraction, transformation and processing to optimize quantitative analyses on various business functions.Familiarity with Scrum, DevOps, and DataOps methodologies, and supporting tools such as JIRA.Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate. analytical and technical concepts with confidence and in an easy-to-understand fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.Required location: Houston, TX area and is required to be onsite 3 days per week at client location.
