Job Summary:
Responsibilities
Provide analytical consultation, science modeling, and solutions to achieve business goals and objectives, based on sound business acumen, creatively and with minimal guidance on science methodologies and modeling approaches. Research, design, develop, implement, and support decision science models. Conduct research on emerging analytical techniques and translate that research into usable and sustainable solutions for users. Perform data collection, data cleaning, data validation, and reporting tasks for revenue management systems and applications. Perform exploratory data analysis to find patterns and trends in business applications. Support the analysis and validation of statistical, forecasting, and optimization models. Model and analyze revenue-management, pricing, and finance-related issues using various mathematical, statistical, and simulation techniques. Communicate science results to business partners and clients, including executive leaders. Design and develop advanced analytical data mining, forecasting, estimation, and/or optimization models. Provide science calibration support for decision science models. Identify and apply best practices in the field of advanced analytics, providing guidance to colleagues in areas of expertise, and acting as a science consultant to all business units. (Position allows some work-from-home flexibility, with schedule to be approved by manager. Must be able to work on site as required. Multiple openings.)
Requirements
Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Econometrics, or a related field. Will accept a PhD or foreign equivalent in a stated field in lieu of a Master’s degree.
One (1) year of experience as a Decision Scientist or related role. Experience must include:
linear regression models;
time series models;
stochastic process models;
decision tree models;
neural network models;
reinforcement learning models;
financial valuation or risk analysis models;
linear optimization models;
nonlinear optimization models; and
Python or R programming languages.
