Design decisions will be substantiated with appropriate analysis, trade studies, and legacy product similarities. Provide engineering solutions that meet customer performance requirements, interface details, reliability, cost and schedule requirements. Works with customers to define explicit non-ambiguous requirements. Provides technical direction for assigned projects from initial concept phase to product delivery. Understand mechanical, electric-mechanical systems and robust design methods. Responsible for concept layout, modeling, detailing, release and change management of drawings in configuration control system. Establish technical requirements for fabricated and procured components. Select materials, finishes, processes, dimensions and GD&T to meet the design intent. Work closely with manufacturing and quality engineers, customers, and suppliers. Perform mechanical design tasks for cast, machined, and plastic/metallic additively manufactured components. Work with manufacturing and external suppliers to optimize design decisions. Design electromechanical sensor packaging with CAD component modeling, assembly and BOM structure creation, and production drawings. Review customer specifications and drawings and developing Compliance Matrices against requirements. Capable of working directly with the customer and have the ability to clearly explain and discuss drawings, engineering analyses, and manufacturing processes. Develop plans for design verification and validation testing for design compliance. Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of three (3) years engineering experience in electrical / electro-mechanical / mechanical design. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future. This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 60-mile radius of Bethel, CT will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Experience with manufacturing processes, product testing, stress analysis, magnetic properties, fluid dynamics, and thermal analysis. Experience with MEMS sensor integration and pressure sensing. Well organized and detail oriented in preparation for design approvals Capable of developing conclusions from analyses and applying results to support project team's activities. Demonstrates ability to clearly explain and discuss drawings, engineering analyses, and manufacturing processes.
