Senior Design Reviewer (Sustainability)

Hours: Full-Time – 35 Hours
Work Location: 30-30 Thomson Avenue, LIC, NY 11101

Only candidates who are permanent in the Administrative Architect title or those who are reachable on the promotional list (exam #6501) or the open-competitive list (exam #6001) may apply. The NYC Department of Design & Construction, Public Buildings Division seeks a Sr. Design Reviewer to join the Sustainability Unit. The selected candidate will serve as one of the unit’s representatives for capital projects. Responsibilities include: project scope development; design, construction, and post-construction technical review for both sustainability and resiliency; LEED compliance strategies; and certification documentation. The Sr. Design Reviewer will also be responsible for energy master planning and building performance evaluation. The selected candidate will attend project and site meetings; liaise with DDC Program Unit staff, design consultants, commissioning agents, and contractors; and participate in the unit’s research and development program, which often results in codified policy change.

ADMIN ARCHITECT (NON MGRL) M-1 - 1000A

A valid New York State Registration as an Architect is required. In addition, candidates must have six ( 6 ) years of full-time paid experience in architectural work, at least two (2) years of which shall have been as an administrative architect.
