Senior DevOps Developer

to join our team in

Herndon, VA . We create the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

The DevOps Developer will support a proprietary program in the Northern Virginia area. This program is dynamic and exciting, providing the opportunity to work within and learn a broad range of engineering disciplines. This role will focus on translating customer needs into detailed requirements for system integrated design. As a DevOps developer, you will work in a dynamic team environment and collaborate with several types of engineering disciplines to execute tasks on-quality and on-time.Position Responsibilities:Builds, tests and deploys automation, monitoring, and analysis solutions.Identifies and investigates technical and reliability challenges in the development and implementation process.Creates and executes process improvement solutions.Builds and integrates software tools to enhance the product's reliability and scalability.Provides work direction in setting up development and production environments, deployment of application devices.Assists in developing best practices/methodologies for provisioning, platform scaling, configuration management, monitoring and troubleshooting.Collaborates with delivery teams to establish and achieve service level indicators, service level objectives, SLAs, and error budgets.This position is 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires an active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.).

This position is contingent on clearance verification and customer concurrence.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):10+ years of hands-on experience in the IT field as a system administrator.5+ years of experience working with engineering or software development teams.Security+ Certified (or similar certification meeting DoD Directive 8570.01 Certification Requirements)Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Willing to be on call and available for second shift, weekends and/or holidays, when required.Knowledge of cultural philosophies, practices and tools required for continuous integration and continuous delivery to deliver applications and services with increased velocity and in line with security requirements.Ability to utilize cloud computing where a combination of clouds is used.Ability to identify susceptibility, survivability, and vulnerability (S/V) of the systems, subsystems and delivery mechanisms, based on the knowledge of characteristics and capabilities of threats (e.g. protocol exploits, identity spoofing, malware injection techniques, application layer vulnerabilities).Typical Education & Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.Drug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Shift:This position is for 1st shift.At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
