Job Description - Senior DevOps Engineer

Copper River Cyber Solutions

is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineerto join our team in support of a new contract at the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Responsiveness. This position will be performed remotely with the occasional need for an onsite meeting in the Washington D.C. area.

The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for all aspects of DevOps engineering. Develops DevOps strategies. May evaluate new DevOps software and hardware for adherence to the organization's quality standards. Working with Project Team Leads and Project Managers to produce the highest quality products.

Responsibilities

(include but are not limited to) :
Serve as the Senior DevOps Engineer
Assist with the design of, as well as configure and maintain, infrastructure and/or cloud resources necessary to reliably host, run, and support applications through all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
Create and maintain continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
Write scripts and configurations to automate application testing, deployment, and maintenance in a manner consistent with software engineering best practices
Proactively monitor build and deployment pipelines and infrastructure, apply patches, troubleshoot issues, and resolve errors
Automate infrastructure and/or cloud resource deployments and configuration using infrastructure-as-code tools
Work with engineering teams to create CI/CD pipelines for their applications and ensure code is properly integrated into the CI/CD pipelines
Configure and support development environments for consistent development processes across devices
Participate in the design of the version control system and configure it to align with software development life cycle (SDLC) and security policies and best practices
Automate security testing and vulnerability scanning and integrate it into the development process
Assist with remediate findings from vulnerability scanning and penetration testing
Assist with training users on both new and existing functionality
Informally mentor other staff in DevOps concepts and processes
Work with peers and business partners to identify workflows or processes where automation can improve efficiency and or reduce costs
Leverage multivendor APIs and write scripts to create solutions to improve existing processes
Engage internal departments and third-party vendors for security and infrastructure support and best practices
Troubleshoot technical issues, identify the cause, determine possible resolutions, and remediate issues in existing applications
Producing quality documentation
Participate in internal planning and reporting processes
Work with Project Team Leads
Ensure standards are followed as directed by Project Team Leads
Participate in special projects as required

Requirements:
Clearance:
Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Education:
Bachelors degree or prior, relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years' experience
Experience with implementation and administration of DevOps environments
Experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, analyzing, and maintaining on prem and cloud DevOps environments
Experience managing, configurating, and supporting DevOps environments
Experience performing DevOps environment upgrades
Experience creating and presenting technical specifications and requirements
Experience producing quality documentation
Experience working with Federal government clients
Preferred Skills:
DevOps knowledge and experience
Cloud knowledge and experience
Microsoft 365 knowledge and experience a plus
SharePoint knowledge and experience a plus
Cyber Security knowledge and experience a plus
Platform and data migration knowledge and experience a plus
