Senior Director of Business Development

***This is a 6-month temporary assignment***

Position Summary

The Senior Director of Business Development role provides strategic leadership for the identification, development, and expansion of new business opportunities that advance the mission and growth objectives of AMIkids; accountable for identifying, pursuing, and securing new funding opportunities through Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs, Job Corps contracts, Department of Labor initiatives, workforce board procurements, and other government-funded workforce and youth development opportunities; working closely with the Senior Vice President of Operations the role serves as AMIkids' lead strategist for expanding workforce development services, developing competitive proposals, cultivating workforce system partnerships, and positioning AMIkids as a premier provider of youth workforce, education, and employment services.

Essential Job Duties:

• Work closely with the Senior Vice President of Operations to identify, evaluate, and pursue strategic growth opportunities,


• Develop and maintain a business development strategy aligned with AMIkids' mission, strategic plan, and operational priorities,


• Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with federal, state, and local agencies, workforce boards, educational institutions, employers, and community partners


• Research and monitor emerging opportunities in workforce development, employment services, career and technical education, youth services, and related markets,


• Lead efforts to establish and expand partnerships with Job Corps centers, operators, and related stakeholders,


• Develop strategic relationships with workforce development boards, economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, and employer networks,


• Collaborate with operational leadership to assess new program opportunities, geographic expansions, and service delivery models,


•  Evaluate Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other competitive opportunities to determine organizational fit, and viability,


• Coordinate cross-functional teams in the development of proposals, business plans, and partnership opportunities,


• Assist in negotiating partnership agreements, contracts, and memorandums of understanding,


• Track and manage a pipeline of prospective opportunities and provide regular status reports to executive leadership,


• Represent AMIkids at conferences, industry events, stakeholder meetings, and networking functions,


• Build relationships with federal agencies, Department of Labor representatives, state workforce agencies, and other key stakeholders,


• Collaborate with Development, Programs, Finance, and Operations teams to align growth opportunities with organizational capacity and strategic priorities,


• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities,


• Develop presentations, reports, and business cases for senior leadership and board review,


• Support efforts to expand employer engagement and workplace opportunities for youth and young adults served by AMIkids,


• Monitor policy, regulatory, and industry developments affecting workforce development and Job Corps programs,


• Maintain accurate records of business development activities, partnerships, and opportunity outcomes,


• Travel as required to support partnership development, business growth, and stakeholder engagement,


• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Workforce Development, Education, Human Services, or a related field; master’s degree preferred,


• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in business development, workforce development, government relations, strategic partnerships, or related fields,


• Demonstrated success developing partnerships and securing new business opportunities,


• Experience working with federal, state, and local government agencies,


• Demonstrated experience working within Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) system, Department of Labor-funded programs, workforce development boards, Job Corps, youth employment initiatives, or government-funded workforce services required,


• Experience leading or supporting successful government grant applications, workforce board procurements, competitive proposals, or federal contract pursuits strongly preferred,


• Effective communication (verbal & written), presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills,


• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), advanced preferred.
