Senior Director of Environmental Health and Safety

What We Are Looking For

The Senior Director of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) provides transformational and strategic leadership in the delivery of environmental, health and safety services to the campus community.

Bachelor's degree required/Master's preferred in a field of environmental science and safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, safety, physical or life science. 5+ years of overall experience, 3+ years of managerial experience. Professional certification such as Certified Safety Profession (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.

*All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Compliance and Risk Officer, EHS is responsible for maintaining a safe environment by ensuring university activities are conducted in compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety policies and regulations through the development, implementation and monitoring of preventative measures and initiatives.

The work of EHS is fostered through collaborative partnerships with other campus departments as well as external regulatory agencies.

EHS actively promotes a positive, responsible, integrated safety culture in a Christian university community.

It is an advocate for a safe and healthy living, learning, and working environment for all.

The department provides leadership for university compliance with EHS-related policies and regulations.

Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission.

Ability to comply with University policies.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
