The teams are comprised of full stack developers, tech leads andDirectors who manage teams themselves. A successful candidate for thisposition will be able to have a positive impact on the experience of otherproduct development teams within Visa.The Work itself:
Overview of the expected work
The work involves leading teams adhering to Visa's leadership principles ofleading courageously, obsessing about our customers, collaborating withother teams, and excelling in execution.
The Visa Cloud Platform comprises of 100s of micro-services and micro-frontend components designed to work together as a cohesive platform to enable ourcustomers to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of their applications - fromideation to decommissioning of services. The primary language used in thebackend is Java with Spring framework as the base framework. The front end ismostly built using Typescript and AngularJS. Other significant software /frameworks leveraged are Activiti, Quartz, MongoDB, and MySQL.
This role is expected to collaborate closely with other partners in Operationsand Infrastructure like Compute, Storage, Network, Middleware andDatabase Engineering teams. There will be significant integration with ourCyberSecurity services, requiring close partnership with them.Essential FunctionsThe Skills You Bring:
Lead multiple development teams to manage and enhance Visa's Private CloudPlatform.
Bring in strong technical expertise to drive the architecture and high-leveldesign of different services.
Lead technical discussions and communicate regularly with senior leadership ontechnical issues, program status, and escalations.
Define and advocate a set of standard technologies and architectural patternsfor solving complex technical problems, specifically in the cloud computingdomain.
Champion SSDLC processes to deliver quality software on time.
Act as a technical liaison between product, engineering teams,Cybersecurity and Operations.
Work closely with cross-functional groups including internal stakeholders(Product Managers, Engineers, Architects, etc.), and externalcustomers and vendors to formalize roadmaps & priorities.
Lead by example, demonstrating accountability, and by contributing todepartmental procedures, best practices, and standards.
**We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of thesecharacteristics. For instance, we have awesome team members who are reallyfocused on building scalable systems but didn't work with pay entstechnology or web applications before joining Visa.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between bothremote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from theoffice 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with ageneral guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based onbusiness needs.QualificationsBasic Qualifications* 12+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 15+years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications* 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years ofexperience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD),PhD with 9+ years of experience* 5 years of experience in leading other development teams or team of teams.* 5 years of experience in systems architecture, engineering or developmentincluding experience in cloud automation frameworks, Hybrid cloudinfrastructure deployments and solutions for large enterprises.* Well versed with well-architected frameworks driving Operation excellence,Security, Reliability, Performance efficiency, Cost Optimization* Understanding and experience with Virtualization and Containerizationtechnologies and cloud-native Application Architecture* Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills with the ability to work in
