Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product\u2019s lifecycle including modifications, upgrades, and maintenance of the product or product line.\n\nKey responsibilities\n\n * Lead Qualcomm\u2019s Linux\u2011based robotics platform strategy, including kernel variants, real\u2011time Linux distributions, robotics\u2011specific build systems, and OS\u2011level abstractions required for deterministic robotics workloads.\n * Lead open\u2011source ecosystem engagement, especially with ROS/ROS 2, real\u2011time Linux communities, robotics middleware, and upstream contributors to ensure alignment with industry trends and platform direction.\n * Own the end\u2011to\u2011end Robotics Software Platform roadmap, covering perception, SLAM, mapping, planning, controls, heterogeneous compute orchestration, and real\u2011time robotics middleware.\n * Drive platform architecture and API definitions across real\u2011time compute, distributed robotics workloads, sensor fusion, AI/ML acceleration, and edge\u2011to\u2011cloud integration.\n * Shape the long\u2011term robotics architecture across Snapdragon platforms\u2014spanning sensor interfaces, mission\u2011critical compute, system determinism, real\u2011time scheduling, containerization, and secure update mechanisms.\n * Guide engineering execution across perception, autonomy, middleware, tools, and systems teams to deliver reliable, predictable platform releases across diverse robotic form factors.\n * Transform customer, developer, and partner feedback into clear PRDs, KPIs, and launch criteria that shape the evolution of Qualcomm\u2019s robotics stack.\n * Collaborate cross\u2011functionally with hardware, SoC architecture, systems engineering, cloud services, BD/sales, and ecosystem partners to align platform delivery with customer and market needs.\n * Deliver developer\u2011ready assets including SDKs, samples, APIs, documentation, and tooling that accelerate adoption and reduce integration time.\n * Represent Qualcomm externally to robotics OEMs, integrators, platform developers, and the global robotics community to drive alignment on roadmap and platform differentiators.\n\n\n\nThis is an office based position located in San Diego, CA and is expected to comply with the company\u0027s onsite work policy.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field. \n\u2022 10+ years of Product Management or related work experience.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * 12+ years of Product Management, Technical Product Ownership, or robotics/embedded/AI platform leadership.\n * Deep technical understanding of Linux\u2011based robotics systems, including real\u2011time Linux (PREEMPT\u2011RT or equivalent), kernel\u2011level tuning, and robotics OS distributions.\n * Strong background in robotics software stacks (perception, SLAM, mapping, planning, controls, middleware).\n * Hands\u2011on familiarity with heterogeneous compute architectures (CPU, GPU, DSP, NPU) and mapping robotics workloads onto complex SoCs.\n * Demonstrated success driving large, cross\u2011functional engineering programs and representing platform decisions to external customers.\n * Experience with ROS/ROS 2, or similar robotics middleware frameworks.\n * Ability to convert complex technical challenges into clear, actionable product requirements.\n * Background in robotics, autonomous systems, industrial automation, mobile robotics, drones, AMRs/AGVs, or multi\u2011sensor autonomous platforms.\n * In\u2011depth experience with open\u2011source robotics ecosystems\u2014ROS/ROS 2, Linux kernel development, Yocto\u2011based builds, real\u2011time Linux, and robotics DevOps pipelines.\n * Understanding of perception pipelines, SLAM frameworks, real\u2011time scheduling, AI inference optimization, and distributed robotics architectures.\n * Experience defining SDKs, developer toolchains, debugging workflows, reference implementations, and platform documentation for robotics developers.\n * Strong executive\u2011level communication skills\u2014capable of aligning engineering, partners, and customers around a unified robotics platform vision.\n\n\n\nQualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
