Job Description - Senior Director, Translational Research & Biomarkers

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on leader to bridge the gap between early discovery and our patients.  As the Senior Director of Translational Research & Biomarkers, you will design and execute the translational strategies to support the development of our clinical portfolio.  You’ll lead efforts developing and identifying the biomarkers that help identify how to select our patients and to demonstrate that our molecules impact the desired target biology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and lead the overarching translational medicine strategy for the entire pipeline, from lead optimization to Phase II/III.

  • Biomarker Discovery: Oversee the identification, development, and validation of pharmacodynamic, predictive, and prognostic biomarkers.

  • Clinical Integration: Collaborate with Clinical Development to integrate biomarker assays into clinical protocols and ensure high-quality data collection and analysis.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as the primary link between Discovery Research, Clinical, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure seamless program transitions.

  • External Innovation: Manage relationships with CROs, academic collaborators, and potential diagnostic partners for assay development and companion diagnostic (CDx) strategies.

  • Regulatory Representation: Lead the translational/biomarker sections of regulatory filings (IND, CTA, BLA/NDA) and represent the company in meetings with health authorities (FDA/EMA).

Qualifications

  • Education: PhD or MD in Biology, Pharmacology, Oncology, Immunology, or a related field.

  • Experience: 10+ years in the biopharma industry, with a proven track record of moving programs from bench to bedside.

  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of diverse platform technologies (e.g., NGS, IHC, flow cytometry, proteomics, liquid biopsy).

  • Strategic Mindset: Experience developing validated lab tests/Cdx and a strong understanding of global regulatory requirements for biomarkers.

  • Leadership: A history of managing high-performing teams and influencing stakeholders in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
