Join our innovative Space client in San Diego as a Senior EEE Parts Component Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of space technology. This hands-on position offers the opportunity to provide technical leadership in parts selection, management, creation, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive Innovation:
Contribute to groundbreaking space projects, from initial proposals and design through to production support.
Collaborate Effectively:
Work closely with design engineers, supply chain experts, and quality and reliability teams to develop specifications, select parts, and manage obsolescence.
Ensure Excellence:
Partner with various engineering teams (Project, Design, Manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that designs meet stringent quality and requirement standards.
Promote Standardization:
Advocate for the reuse of components from the database and collaborate with manufacturers and distributors to stay abreast of product roadmaps.
Maintain ECAD Library:
Oversee the ECAD library, including the maintenance and introduction of new parts.
Stay Informed:
Analyze Product Change Notices (PCNs) and Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) alerts to assess their impact and communicate concerns to relevant teams.
Manage Data Efficiently:
Ensure the efficient management of data and part number systems.
Required Experience:
Educational Background:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
Obsolescence Management:
Proficiency in tools and strategies for managing component obsolescence.
End-of-Life Expertise:
Skilled in handling commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and counterfeit components.
Qualification Protocols:
Familiarity with qualification and screening protocols for electronic, electrical, and electromechanical (EEE) parts.
Industry Standards:
Well-versed in JEDEC, EIA, IPC standards, and relevant military, NASA (EEE-INST-002), and ESA standards.
Quality Assurance:
Knowledgeable about Quality Assurance practices related to the Electronic Component Management Plan (ECMP).
Space Design Requirements:
Understanding of space design requirements and their practical applications.
PCB CAD Design:
Experienced with PCB CAD designs for various assurance levels and vendor capabilities.
Advanced Technologies:
Competent in high-density interconnect technologies like micro vias, fuzz/micro buttons, BGA packaging, and high-frequency electronics including RF microwave, MMIC, and high-speed digital designs.
