Assist with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health) and will utilize MESH tools to drive improvements by participating and co-leading MESH Teams. Prepare and deliver presentations across all functions to ensure compliance to MESH guidelines and persuade or lead teams to effective resolutions. Obtain training and hands-on experience in implementing MESH tools to drive improvements in MESH and directly support plant objectives. Work closely with management and facility employees at all levels to facilitate, lead, and/or assist teams in achieving department and plant goals as related to MESH, both safety standards and compliance to environmental/permit regulations. Support efforts to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis. Create and maintain training matrices to ensure that all training is defined and tracked to completion. Work with EHS leader and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations. Have responsibility for EHS project management from initiation through completion. Work flexible hours to accomplish tasks. Have knowledge and/or experience driving process improvements and sustaining implementation to prevent future incidents. Ensure confidential, discreet handling of sensitive, confidential and proprietary information and tact and initiative in contacts with company employees, management and external regulatory/legal agencies or sources. Assist with the Workers Compensation program and injury and illness management. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of 2 years' experience in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety role(s). Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment. No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Omaha facility. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. 3 years of experience in electrical safety or supporting employees working in a live electrical environment. Prior experience or education with an emphasis in environmental, health, and safety program management and employee training. Strong team-building & organizational skills. Strong knowledge of EPA, OSHA & DOT federal, state and local regulations. Ability to demonstrate managerial courage (e.g., managing varied interests representing potential conflicts). Ability to lead and support cross-functional EHS teams.
